چکیده

Introduction F. Jacob (Paris, France), co-creator of the replicon hypothesis and the operon model, opened the workshop with his memories of a summer 40 years ago. In the early morning, he and Sydney Brenner would accompany their eight children to the beach so that the ladies of the two families could sleep. As the two men talked, they illustrated their thoughts by drawing models in the sand. The issues were how the replication of DNA could be regulated and coupled to cell growth—problems that are still largely unsolved. They reasoned that, because of its extreme precision and specificity, replication could not be regulated merely by the pool of available precursors. They postulated that autonomous replication of a bacterial plasmid or a chromosome might be governed by a cis-acting sequence, the replicator, present on each DNA molecule, and a gene encoding a trans-acting initiator protein that could bind specifically to the replicator. These two elements would constitute a replication unit, the replicon, that could ensure the regulated duplication of the DNA contiguous with the replicator (Fig.1; Jacob et al., 1963). Four decades later, the replicon model continues to provide a fruitful framework for the exploration of increasingly complex cisand trans-acting regulatory elements, and these were a main focus of the workshop. Other topics of interest were the relationship between replication and genomic stability, and the links between the replication and segregation of daughter chromosomes. Some of the most exciting new work presented at the meeting is discussed in this report.

G Pythagorean hodograph quintic transition between two circles

Walton & Meek [13] obtained fair G Pythagorean hodograph (PH) quintic transition Sand C-shaped curves connecting two circles. It was shown that an S-shaped curve has no curvature extremum and a Cshaped curve has a single curvature extremum. We simplified and completed their analysis. A family of fair PH quintic transition curves between two circles has been derived. We presented an algorithm wi...

Bivariate mean value interpolation on circles of the same radius

We consider   bivariate  mean-value interpolationproblem, where the integrals over circles are interpolation data. In this case the problem  is described  over   circles of the same radius and with  centers are on astraight line and it is shown that in this case the interpolation is not correct.

Elastic Behavior of Functionally Graded Two Tangled Circles Chamber

This paper presents the numerical elastic solution for a real problem, functionally graded chamber of hydraulic gear pumps under internal pressure. Because of the similarity and complexity for the considering geometry, a bipolar cylindrical coordinate system is used to extract the governing equations. The material properties are considered to vary along the two tangled circles with a power-law ...

Quaternionic Product of Circles and Cycles and Octonionic Product for Pairs of Circles

This paper concerns with a product of circles induced by the quaternionic product considered in a projective manner. Several properties of this composition law are derived and on this way we arrive at some special numbers as roots or powers of unit. We extend this product to cycles as oriented circles and to pairs of circles by using the algebra of octonions. Three applications of the given pro...

Israʾiliyyat or Traditions of Jewish Origin: A Major Instance of Transferred Traditions

One of the recent inquiries in the field of hadith studies is the investigation of transferred traditions and their causes and impacts on Shi‘i hadith circles. By exploring some traditions in the hadith collection of al-Shaykh al-Saduq and comparing the textual similarities and also the chain of transmitters, this research attempts to show that traditions of Jewish origin in the Shi‘i hadith ci...
